The use of Solder Paste must be combined with specific process requirements. First, confirm whether the composition and particle size of the solder paste used match the current soldering needs, and check whether the shelf life of the solder paste is within the valid range. Expired solder paste can easily lead to reduced soldering performance.
During the printing process, the squeegee pressure and angle need to be adjusted to ensure that the solder paste evenly covers the pads. Excessive pressure may cause solder paste overflow, while angle deviation will lead to uneven printing, which in turn affects subsequent soldering results. Therefore, adjustments should be made according to actual conditions during operation.
Before soldering, the PCB board must be preheated to ensure uniform temperature distribution and avoid component damage caused by local overheating. At the same time, check whether the temperature curve of the Reflow Soldering equipment meets the process specifications. Excessively high or low temperatures will affect the forming quality of solder joints.
After soldering, carefully observe the shape of the solder joints. A good solder joint should be round and full, with clear edges and no burrs. If cold solder joints or bridging are found, immediately investigate issues such as solder paste printing, reflow soldering parameters, or component placement. If necessary, a microscope can be used for detailed inspection.
Attention should also be paid to the storage of solder paste. It should be sealed and stored in a low-temperature environment to avoid moisture or oxidation. After each use, the container should be promptly covered to prevent skin formation on the solder paste surface from affecting subsequent use. At the same time, printing tools should be regularly cleaned to prevent impurities from mixing into the solder paste.
In actual operation, process parameters must also be flexibly adjusted according to different types of components and soldering requirements. For example, for fine-pitch components, a finer solder paste stencil should be used, and the printing thickness should be controlled within a reasonable range to ensure soldering accuracy.
