The lead-free transition of Consumer Electronics Solders is not an option but a lifeline. JiajinYuan lead-free solder has been stably tested on SMT production lines: after 72 hours of high-temperature aging at 260°C, no solder joint cracking or tin whisker germination occurs. Its Sn96.5Ag3.0Cu0.5 alloy ratio precisely locks the liquidus temperature in the range of 217°C to 220°C, which not only avoids the cost surge caused by high silver content, but also prevents the collapse risk of low-melting-point solder during secondary reflow of multilayer boards.

Solder joint reliability is strongly correlated with thermal cycle life

We continuously tracked the soldering results of 12 batches of motherboards at a TWS earphone foundry in Dongguan and found that when the reflow peak temperature deviates from 235°C±2°C by more than ±5°C, the IMC thickness fluctuation of BGA bottom solder joints expands from 1.2μm to 2.6μm, which directly leads to microcracks appearing at the 850th cycle in the -40°C/125°C thermal cycle test. However, after using JiajinYuan solder and strictly implementing this temperature zone parameter, the same model of PCB still maintains a thrust attenuation of <8% after passing 2100 cycles.

Flux residue and ionic contamination must be controlled simultaneously

The high surface tension of lead-free solder makes wetting and spreading more dependent on flux activity, but enhanced activity easily leads to excessive halogen residue. JiajinYuan's matching no-clean rosin-based flux has a Cl⁻ content of 0.41μg/cm² and Br⁻ content of 0.28μg/cm² in the IPC-TM-650 2.3.25 test, which is far lower than the 1.5μg/cm² limit specified in IEC 61189-2. Moreover, after three ultrasonic cleaning cycles, ion chromatography detection shows no abnormal enrichment of Na⁺ or K⁺.

Stencil aperture design needs to adapt to the rheological properties of lead-free solder

When printing 0201 component pads, if the 75% aperture area ratio from the leaded era is still used, JiajinYuan solder often causes insufficient Solder Paste volume due to its high viscosity and slow spreading. After we adjusted the aperture ratio to 82% on site and increased the squeegee pressure from 4.5kgf to 6.2kgf, SPI detection showed that the solder paste volume CV value narrowed from 18.3% to 9.7%, and no solder bridging or insufficient solder alarms occurred during continuous production of 300 pieces.

Copper PAD corrosion control determines long-term solderability

Lead-free solder exacerbates the erosion of copper substrates at high temperatures. JiajinYuan solder has a measured copper dissolution rate of 0.73μm/min after 10 seconds of tin immersion at 250°C, which is 21% lower than the common industry level. This is due to the fact that Cu elements are diffusely distributed in the alloy rather than segregated and aggregated. Combined with OSP film thickness controlled at 180ű20Å, it effectively suppresses the black edge phenomenon at solder joints and PAD peeling.

Export customs declaration documents must be perfectly consistent with the composition report

Before delivery to EU customers, the SGS report provided by JiajinYuan marks Pb content as <100ppm, Cd <20ppm, Hg <10ppm, and Cr⁶⁺ <2ppm. All values must be consistent with the original test data of the actual batch. Any rounding or unit conversion error will trigger retesting by the customer's laboratory. Three customers have already returned entire batches because the report mistakenly wrote 0.089mg/g as 0.09mg/g.
