On January 1, 2026, Shenzhen Jintuo Automation, Wuxi Yuncheng Materials and Suzhou Kangpus Precision jointly disclosed the phased achievements of their intelligent manufacturing production lines at the Yangtze River Delta SMT Industry Chain Collaboration Conference. All three enterprises have completed the construction of an SMT Solder full-process data middle platform, and realized real-time collection and abnormal traceability of 12 types of key process parameters from alloy melting, atomization powder preparation, screening and classification to vacuum packaging. Among them, the SMT solder intelligent factory of Yuncheng Materials located in Yixing has been stably operating for more than 280 days, with an average daily data point collection volume of 4.7 million entries, a 92% reduction in manual inspection frequency compared with traditional production lines, and a process deviation response time shortened to 7.3 seconds.
This upgrade is not an isolated technology introduction, but is deeply embedded in the JIT supply system of downstream leading EMS enterprises. For example, the SMT solder dynamic replenishment model customized by Kangpus for Luxshare Precision's Kunshan base can automatically trigger the particle size distribution fine-tuning instruction for the corresponding batch of solder based on the cold solder joint/bridge defect heatmap returned by AOI inspection, increasing the first-pass yield of 01005 device soldering from 92.4% to 96.8%. This linkage mechanism has completed the VDA6.3 process audit certification for terminal customers such as OPPO and Xiaomi in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Industry observations show that the focus of intelligent investment for current SMT Solder Manufacturers is shifting from single-point equipment networking to cross-system semantic interoperability. The new test line built by Jintuo Automation in Dongguan Songshan Lake has connected the OPC UA protocol stack between MES and third-party Solder Paste mixers and Reflow Soldering temperature zone controllers, realizing spatiotemporal alignment of solder batch IDs with 37 variables such as furnace temperature curves, stencil tension, and squeegee pressure. This capability supported it in undertaking small-batch rapid-response orders for high-reliability lead-free solder for an advanced packaging project of HiSilicon in 2025, with the delivery cycle compressed by 40% while still meeting the stringent requirement of ±0.08wt% silver content fluctuation in the JEDEC J-STD-006C standard.
It is worth noting that this round of intelligent layout has not significantly increased terminal procurement costs. All three manufacturers have reduced the reliance on debugging engineers by 55% through process knowledge graph accumulation, and migrated part of the computing power to edge-side industrial gateways, keeping the hardware investment of the new AI quality inspection module within 6.2% of the total production line investment. This pragmatic path reflects that the SMT solder industry is moving from the early concept verification stage to the deep-water zone of large-scale cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and also confirms that the role of China's electronic assembly basic material suppliers in the high-end manufacturing ecosystem is evolving from passive supporting to active collaboration.
