When selecting SAC305 Solder Paste for production lines, it is necessary to simultaneously evaluate the alloy powder particle size distribution, Flux halogen content, and actual stencil aperture matching. For example, our JJY LFP-JJY5RQ-305 uses T4 grade 305 alloy powder, paired with ROL1 grade halogen control (both items <1500ppm), and can achieve nearly 100% wetting in 0.3mm pitch QFN printing. In contrast, LFP-JJY5RTS-305, which also nominally uses 305 but with T3 powder, has slightly higher powder fluidity, making it prone to slight bridging under fine pitch conditions. The squeegee pressure needs to be reduced by 0.2MPa and the demolding time extended by 0.3 seconds to stabilize the yield.
Domestic Solder Pastes respond very pragmatically to the core pain points of lead-free Solder Pastes. For instance, LFP-JJY5RR-305 achieves truly zero halogen (0ppm) and complies with REACH regulations. When used on automotive lamp PCBs, the measured void rate is reduced to 8.2%, which is 3.5 percentage points lower than conventional SAC305 solder pastes. This is attributed to the addition of a trace amount of organic acid complexing agent in its rosin matrix, which accelerates oxide film removal during the initial melting stage at 235°C. However, the trade-off is a narrower cleaning window. The water-washable LFP-JJY5RW1-305 retains the 305 alloy system but uses ORH1 type water-soluble resin, which meets standards after 2 minutes of pure water rinsing at 60°C post-soldering. However, its residual ion concentration is relatively high, so it is not recommended for high-impedance circuits such as fingerprint locks.Process engineers often overlook the impact of batch-to-batch oxygen content fluctuations in alloy powder on solder beads. Comparing the performance of LFP-JJY5RNTT-305 and LFP-JJY5RNTT-0307 under the same batch of flux, the former has an average of 2.1 solder beads per square centimeter after reflow in a nitrogen atmosphere, while the latter rises to 3.7. The root cause is that the increased copper content in the 0307 alloy leads to a decrease in surface tension. The oxygen concentration in the furnace must be tightened from 100ppm to below 50ppm to suppress this. In contrast, the 305 system, with only 0.5% copper content, has better fault tolerance, which is a key reason why communication board factories prefer LFP-JJY5RNTT-305 over the 0307 model. In laser welding scenarios, the advantages of LFP-JJY5RLJ-305 immediately become apparent. It uses T6 grade ultra-fine 305 powder paired with a low volatile temperature flux, achieving 98.7% dispensing consistency during jet valve dispensing. The proportion of thermally failed solder joints is 40% lower than that of ordinary SAC305 solder pastes. However, this model is more sensitive to ambient temperature and humidity. When workshop RH > 65%, the dehumidifier must be turned on 2 hours in advance and the solder paste warm-up time extended to 6 hours. Otherwise, the viscosity will rise by more than 15% within 30 minutes after opening, directly affecting dispensing accuracy. For difficult-to-solder substrates such as aluminum substrates or stainless steel heat sinks, the formulation design of LFP-JJY5RW5-305 is very clever. It does not sacrifice the strength foundation of the 305 alloy, but instead enhances the penetration ability of the Al?O? film by adjusting the ratio of rosin to organic amine. Residues can be removed by water rinsing after soldering. Unlike some low-cost Domestic Solder pastes that rely on increasing acid value to aggressively attack the oxide layer, resulting in excessive corrosion rates on aluminum materials. Measured after soaking this model in 60°C water for 24 hours, the aluminum substrate surface has no white fog or pitting, fully meeting the requirements of IPC-J-STD-004B Class L.
