During actual testing of 8MQP/5RQ-0307T4 Solder Paste on a mobile phone motherboard production line with a monthly capacity of millions of units in Dongguan, it was found that its solder climbing height on 0.3mm pitch QFN devices stably remained at 92%~98% of the pad height, while a competing imported T5 powder Solder Paste tested in the same period fluctuated between 85%~99%. This difference became particularly pronounced after 12 hours of continuous production. The root cause is that the rosin carrier of this Domestic Solder Paste has a more gradual volatilization curve in the 240℃ holding zone, and the alloy powder oxidation rate is controlled within 0.17%, resulting in better printing release consistency than most competing products.
During batch verification of the 8M9P/5RR series on high-power automotive LED lighting boards, the void rate was stably maintained at 3.2%±0.8%, far below the industry Acceptable Limit of 8%. This is attributed to the synergistic optimization of its ROL0-level halogen-free formulation and 305 alloy powder T4-grade particle size distribution (D50=22.3μm, σ=1.8μm), which makes bubble escape paths smoother during the melting stage. Meanwhile, no Cl or Br elements were detected in post-solder residues under XRF scanning, fully meeting the ion contamination control requirements of IATF16949.When switching the production line to 8MNTTP/5RNTT for soldering the narrow-bezel FPC reinforcement area of tablet computers, it was observed that it still maintained a 99.3% placement yield under the condition of a stencil aperture of 0.12mm×0.18mm. The key is that this mass-produced solder paste contains a trace amount of BiNi composite nucleating agent, which reduces the viscosity of the molten state in the reflow peak zone by 18%, thereby completing wetting and spreading on copper pads within 0.15 seconds. Conventional Domestic Solder pastes often exhibit trailing or cold solder joints on such tiny pads, especially when the ambient humidity exceeds 65%RH.After replacing the original no-clean solder paste with water-washable 8MW1P/5RW1 in lighting module assembly, the cleaning yield increased from 94.7% to 99.1%. The main reason is that its ORH1-level water-soluble Flux has a higher interfacial tension match with SC07 alloy powder, allowing complete residue removal under spray pressure of 0.18MPa and water temperature of 55℃ without corroding the OSP surface. This reduces the cleaning consumable cost per shift by 37%. However, it should be noted that slight slumping may occur with its T3 powder after the stencil is used for more than 8 hours, so it is recommended to replace the stencil every 7.5 hours. In the dispensing scenario of pneumatic valves, the laser welding-specific 5RLJ series, with 00507BN alloy powder paired with T6-grade ultra-fine classification (D50=15.6μm), achieved a solder dot diameter CV value of <4.2% and a solder ball occurrence rate of <8PPM, while ordinary T4 powder solder paste produced over 120PPM solder balls under the same parameters. This demonstrates that the powder morphology control of mass-produced solder paste is more critical than the nominal particle size alone, supported by data showing its sphericity SP≥0.92 and oxygen content ≤320ppm.
