On-site Production Line Technical Support: This Domestic Solder Paste Manufacturer Can Provide It

On-site Production Line Technical Support: This Domestic Solder Paste Manufacturer Can Provide It

During on-line support at a customer's production line, we found that the solder wetting defect rate of QFN packaged device pads suddenly rose to 12%. After investigation, it was confirmed that the original Solder Paste had insufficient activity combined with an overly small stencil aperture. We immediately switched to 8MQP/5RQ halogen-free, lead-free high-temperature solder paste and simultaneously adjusted the squeegee pressure and release speed. Within two hours, the solder wetting yield recovered to 98.7%. This is precisely the core value of on-line service solder paste: it is not simply replacing materials, but dynamically aligning the alloy powder particle size distribution, Flux activity gradient, reflow profile window, and on-site equipment status of SMT Solder Paste in real time.

The 8M9P/5RR series zero-halogen solder paste has demonstrated extremely low void rate advantages on automotive LED headlight production lines. Its ROL0-level halogen control, combined with the wetting and spreading characteristics of 0307T4 alloy powder, stably controls the void area of heat sink solder joints within 3.2%, far below the customer's required 5%. In contrast, the void rate of the control line using other Domestic Solder Pastes from the same batch fluctuated between 6.8% and 9.1%. This shows that the batch consistency of Domestic Solder paste must be validated by actual production line data, rather than relying solely on halogen values listed in inspection reports.

To address the difficulty of reworking 0.3mm pitch BGA in communication modules, we directly brought 8MNTTP/5RNTT to the production line. This SMT Solder paste leaves transparent residues with an ionic contamination level below 0.2μg/cm² NaCl. Under the microscope, there is no white precipitate at the solder joint edges, and the AOI false rejection rate decreased by 41%. More importantly, it complies with the J-STD-004B ROL0 standard and IPC-A-610G Class 2 acceptance criteria, making domestic solder paste no longer just an alternative option in high-precision scenarios.

The water-washable 8MW5/5RW5 solder paste has shown exceptional adaptability in soldering nickel-plated aluminum fins of heat sinks. After its SC07 alloy powder is matched with a dedicated water-soluble flux system, post-soldering rinsing with pure water achieves IPC-J-STD-001E Class 2 cleanliness with no corrosive residues. In contrast, traditional rosin-based solder paste still leaves localized white patches even with increased cleaning cycles. This demonstrates that on-line service solder paste must thoroughly understand the substrate surface treatment process; otherwise, even optimal parameters cannot be effectively implemented.

When the 5RLJ series was introduced to the laser welding production line, we simultaneously debugged the pulse width and air pressure parameters of the jet valve. We found that the 00507BN T6 alloy powder had a melting response time 0.18 seconds faster than 305T4 at 12W laser power, reducing the solder ball occurrence rate from 3.7 per 10,000 joints to 0.4. Such millisecond-level differences can only be captured through repeated verification in real production line support, which also confirms that domestic solder paste must couple laboratory data with the dynamic response of SMT equipment to break through performance bottlenecks.

When a customer asked, "Can one solder paste cover both LED light strips and fingerprint lock motherboards?" we did not recommend a universal product. Instead, we broke down the solution: using the 8MA conventional series for LED large-pitch pads, paired with 8MNTTP/5RNTT for the 0.25mm fine pitch of fingerprint locks. Both share the same reflow oven zone settings, with only a ±2℃ adjustment to the peak temperature. This domestic solder paste combination strategy based on overlapping process windows is more reliable than simply pursuing the versatility of a single model, and it better aligns with the actual needs of production line changeover frequency and cost control.
