The pot life of solder paste should not be too long, generally about one month.

Solder paste cannot be stored at room temperature and must be kept sealed in a refrigerator or foam box. Solder paste left over after opening should be stored separately and not mixed with unused solder paste. Solder paste that has been used for too long cannot be reused. Always check the condition of the solder paste before use.

After the printed circuit board or mechanical equipment is initially set up on the same day, use a solder paste thickness gauge to check the solder paste print thickness. Take measurements at five points’top, bottom, left, right and center of the printed circuit board’and record the data. The solder paste thickness should stay within 10% to 15% of the stencil thickness.

Throughout the entire production process, a comprehensive inspection should be carried out on the quality of the solder paste prints. The main checks include whether the solder paste pattern is well-defined, whether the thickness is uniform, and whether there is any solder paste bridging.

After the work shift handover, clean the stencil in accordance with the process requirements. After test prints or misprints, use a stencil cleaning machine to effectively remove and dry the solder paste on the printed board, avoiding defects such as solder balls caused by residual solder paste on the board when it is used again.
