Lead-free and environmentally friendly tin barsWhat are the conditions for generating solder dross? The lead-free and environmentally friendly solder rods commonly seen in our daily life can be classified by composition into two types: one is tin-copper, and the other is tin-silver-copper. Many people engaged in this industry should know that whether it is environmentally friendly tin bars or leaded tin bars, solder slag usually appears during the production process. This situation usually occurs due to several reasons. Now, the manufacturer of JJY solder paste will explain it to you:
This situation is generally caused by several reasons:
1The problem with the wave peak furnace equipment: Currently, the ideal equipment of wave peak furnaces in society is not very impressive. The wave peak is too high, the peak platform is too wide, and the solder mixed with air rushes into the tin furnace, causing oxidation and resulting in the formation of tin slag.
2Human factors also play a role. Adding solder rods at the right time is also very crucial. When adding solder rods, the distance between the solder surfaces should be kept as short as possible.
3Have you frequently cleaned up the solder slag to ensure that the solder slag falling from the peak enters the furnace as soon as possible instead of remaining on the solder slag? If the heating is not uniform, it will also cause the formation of solder slag.
4The most crucial point is whether the purity of the solder rod is insufficient or if it is not made of high-purity materials.
How to solve it:
I. Characteristics of Tin Metal:
Whether it is lead-free tin bars or leaded tin bars, they are both composed of tin alloys. During the continuous contact with air, tin undergoes a chemical reaction to produce tin slag oxides. During the welding operation, the tin bar changes from solid to liquid through high temperature, which will greatly accelerate the oxidation rate of tin, and the tin slag will increase more and more.
Ii. Furnace Temperature Control:
Both lead-free and leaded tin bars have fixed melting points and operating temperatures. If the temperature of the soldering furnace is not properly controlled, it will also accelerate the oxidation process and cause more tin slag to overflow. When the furnace temperature is too high or too low, black tin ash oxides will constantly emerge on the liquid surface of the tin furnace.
Iii. Antioxidant Elements:
When producing lead-free tin bars or lead-containing tin bars, antioxidant element metals are definitely added. The purpose is to inhibit the rate of air oxidation at high furnace temperatures and reduce tin droplet. If the amount of antioxidant elements added is insufficient, more tin slag will also overflow.
Iv. Tin Content:
The tin metal in the tin bar is the main component. If the content and purity of tin are insufficient, it means that impurities and other elements will increase, which also increases the chance of tin slag overflowing.
