During the entire wave soldering process,Tin barTin slag will be produced, but sometimes there may be an excessive amount of tin slag. At this time, it is necessary to pay attention to whether there is a problem. Now, the solder paste manufacturer will explain it to you:

Lead-free and environmentally friendly lead-free tin bars

First of all, we must correctly distinguish whether the frequently occurring tin slag is normal tin slag. Under normal circumstances, tin slag that is in the form of black powder is in a normal state of properties, while tin slag that is in the form of tofu residue is abnormal. For this type of situation, we infer that the problems occur in the following aspects:

1In such circumstances, the main reason is some issues with the wave soldering equipment - the wave soldering furnace. Many of the wave soldering furnaces are not designed very ideally, with high peaks, wide peak stations, and double wave soldering furnaces placed very close together. Additionally, rotary pumps are selected inside the equipment, all of which may cause tin slag. When the peak is so high, during the entire process of the solder falling from the peak to the bottom, the temperature drop difference often increases. The solder will mix with air, causing oxidation or semi-dissolution of the solder, which leads to problems with the solder droplet. If the control measures for the rotary pump are not implemented, and the tin slag is constantly pressed into the furnace, the chain reaction of the loop may cause problems with the tin slag.

2The temperature is so low that the temperature control for wave soldering is relatively low, generally280℃±5℃Moreover, this temperature is the lowest necessary temperature for the phase transformation process of the solder. If the temperature is any lower, the tin will be difficult to melt well, which indirectly leads to more tin slag.

3The most suitable time for adding tin was missed. In the wave soldering process, the time for adding the tin strip is very important. At the most appropriate time, the distance between the tin surface and the peak should always be the shortest.

4One of the main reasons for the problem is that the tin slag in the furnace was not cleared immediately and whether it was dealt with from time to time. When there is too much tin slag in the furnace, the solder falling from the peak cannot be quickly dropped into the furnace and is often confined to the tin slag, resulting in uneven heating and thus causing a large amount of tin slag.

5Is there regular treatment of the wave peak furnace on a daily basis? If the wave peak furnace is often not treated, it will cause a relatively high concentration of impurities in the furnace, which will also lead to a large amount of tin slag.

The above are the main reasons for the large amount of tin slag in the furnace. I hope it can be helpful to you.
